AbstractThe papers in this session will focus on the impact that laws and rules had on particular communities. The first paper will examine the links between Emperor Charles IV and the popular reform preachers working in Prague during the third quarter of the 14th century. The second paper will analyze how taxation aimed at Jews in Moldavia caused unrest. The final paper will examine the influence and limits of German law in Wallachian and Moldavian towns.
